Joe Lauzon

Joe has been fighting in the UFC for 3 years now with a record of 6-3. He has been the Main Event in 2 of those fights and has received honors of Knockout of the Night, Submission of the Night (three times) and Fight of the Night (three times). This is the gym where Joe first started training under Joe Pomfret when he was just 17 years old with no prior training.

Joe Pomfret
Head Instructor/Owner
Before it was Lauzon MMA, it was Reality Self Defense. Joe started RSD and it was the beginning for numerous successful local fighters including Dan and Joe Lauzon, who both made it to the UFC. Known around the gym as “Fight Dad”, Joe really takes people in as beginners gets them to where they want to be. You won’t find a nicer guy or find anyone with a bad word to say about Joe.

Chris Palmquist
MMA Coach, Fighter Manager, Gym Manager
Chris has been at the gym longer than anyone with the exception of Joe Pomfret. Chris has been a staple around the gym and irreplaceable as a training partner and coach. Chris is one of those guy that isn’t always in the limelight but is always in the background making sure things run smoothly.

Greg Pomfred
Kids Instructor / Corrupter of America’s Youth
Greg Pomfred has been training at Lauzon MMA since June of 2002. He has been an instructor with the kids’ program since 2004. Greg teaches the Thursday night kids’ class from 6:00 to 6:45 with some open mat afterwards.

  • 2-0-1 MMA record.
  • Multiple grappling championships.
  • B.S. in Elementary Education from Bridgewater State University
  • Licensed teacher in Massachusetts. Has been a middle school teacher since August of 2007.
Joe Cushman
Cushman has been training at Lauzon MMA since 2003 and has always been an ideal training partner. He comes in, works hard and is committed to getting better. You will be lucky to get 3 words out of him that aren’t directly related to technique or what we are working on.

Joe Proctor
Joe started training at Lauzon MMA in 2006 and runs our beginner MMA classes. Joe is always more than willing to help out anyone that could use it, whether its our brand new guys in his beginners class or guys getting ready for fights in the UFC. Proctor is one of the most well rounded guys in the gym always looking to train hard and work to get to that next level.
