May Newsletter
by Joe Lauzon on May.26, 2009, under News
As you may have noticed, the name of our school has been changed from Reality Self Defense to Lauzon MMA. This is because our own Joe Lauzon took over as majority owner last August. We thought that having a monthly newsletter would be a good way of letting people know about what’s going on for the future, so this is the first installment. A special thanks to Matt Perry for getting this going.Gear Suggestions
Anyone who is interested in boxing should get a hold of a pair of their own boxing gloves. We do not have boxing gloves to provide for you and for sanitation reasons, you should really only use your own, especially during the summer when it is easy to spread skin conditions.
Anybody interested in purchasing Sprawl grappling shorts at a discounted rate should talk to Chris Palmquist. He can help you out.
Anybody interested in picking up a gi to take part in the gi Jiu-Jitsu class being taught by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt John Clarke should look to Atama-Kimonos.com and look for a Bleached Gold Weave Gi. They go for about $140 but will last a long time. Check with us on sizing and we will let you try on someone elses gi to make sure you get the correct size.

Kids Program
We have noticed that we now have a large number of kids interested in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Until now, only the older group of kids was allowed to join our Mixed Martial Arts program.
Now, we will be splitting our kids into 2 groups based on their choice of martial art rather than age.
Kids interested in Uechi-Ryu Karate will continue to meet with Sensei Marilyn on Wednesday nights at 6.
Kids interested in MMA will meet with Sensei Matt at 6:15 on Mondays, Sensei Joe at 6 on Tuesdays and Sensei Greg at 6 on Thursdays. All kids classes are now open to all ages. This program will focus on teaching the kids a variety of martial arts including striking arts such as boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai as well as grappling arts such as wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
Parents, please look at the following payment structure. We need all clients to pay according to this structure. We are no longer accepting cash as we have a third party deal with our payments. Thank you very much for your participation.
