Updated Schedule for the next week or so…
by Joe Lauzon on Dec.29, 2009, under News
As I am sure everyone knows, Dan and I are both fighting this weekend at UFC 108 in Las Vegas. The school is going to be very slow this week and some of the classes are being moved around a bit because so many people are going out, and its New Years. The following changes are in place…
Wednesday 12/30: No Day Class at noon
Thursday 12/31: No Classes (New Years Eve)
Friday 1/1: No Classes (New Years Day)
Saturday 1/2: No Team Training (Everyone will be in Vegas for the fight)
Monday: 1/4: No Day Class at noon (Everyone will be flying home from Vegas)
I am sure everyone understands. We just wanted to give everyone a heads up.
Congrats to Robby Slade and Jimmy Collins
by Joe Lauzon on Jul.20, 2009, under fights
Both Robby and Jimmy fought at Reality Fighting this weekend and won their fights.
This was Robby’s fourth fight as an amateur and his record moves to 4-0. We thought this fight was going to be a little bit easier that it was but it ended up being a real war. In the end though, Robby got the nod by split decision from the judges.
Jimmy made his amateur debut but looked like a seasoned professional. In a truly dominating performance, Jimmy did damage on his feet, took his opponent down and controlled every second of the fight until he had the referee pulling him off his opponent for the TKO victory. Jimmy has been a huge help in getting me ready for my last two fights so I was excited to see him get a win of his own. Jimmy primarily trains at Kimura Brazilian Jiu-JItsu (http://www.kimurabjj.com/) but has been working his MMA game at our gym.
I am still working on getting Robby’s video online, but you can watch Jimmy’s fight below:
New Schedule
by Joe Lauzon on Jun.25, 2009, under News
Please take note of the new schedule that will be starting June 29th. We have moved the boxing classes from up from 7:00 to 6:30 so that we could extend the Wrestling, Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Grappling classes to 90 minutes (they were 60 minutes). There is a slight overlap in the Team Training on Tuesday/Thursday and the Submission Grappling Classes, but that was intended and you can still do both. The first 30 minutes of those classes will be a longer warm up and drilling and will allow those doing team training to jump into technique.
On Mondays, Wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu take place at the same time, so you can do one class or the other.
If you have any questions, just ask.
May Newsletter
by Joe Lauzon on May.26, 2009, under News
As you may have noticed, the name of our school has been changed from Reality Self Defense to Lauzon MMA. This is because our own Joe Lauzon took over as majority owner last August. We thought that having a monthly newsletter would be a good way of letting people know about what’s going on for the future, so this is the first installment. A special thanks to Matt Perry for getting this going. (continue reading…)

This is our new site. We were looking for a way to keep people up to date on what’s going on around the gym, so this is it.
